Buying a new car may be cause for a family celebration, so naturally, when one Hervey Bay’s most innovative companies is among the first in Australia to take delivery of a state of the art piece of machinery – they want to showcase it to their customers.

Q Mulching director Janelle Horne said as a company working in the recycling industry it was critical they embraced technologies that reduced their impact on the environment and demonstrated their commitment to utilising newest and safest technologies available in the industry.

Mrs Horne said using Tier IV Final compliant equipment was a way of  ensuring Q Mulching created minimal emissions, reduced running costs while still allowing for increased production.

“Every facet of business, including our Government and Councils are running leaner and greener operations and are turning to businesses who are of like-minded culture,” she said. “We will be able to show our clients, including the Mayor, exactly what this machine can do: showcasing advantages to them including safety and productivity initiatives along with advanced capabilities of this machine.

“Up to 45% improvement in in operating efficiency, up to 25% reduction in fuel consumption, and the ability to cut maintenance costs by up to 15% through reduced downtime.  Exceeding our customer’s expectations through significant gains in productivity and safety, ensuring our customers get maximum value for the expenditure on these projects.

“The integrated safety features of the 360-visibility camera, E Fence and payload on the Next Gen ensure the machine can work safely on site simultaneously with site personnel.

“Research shows integrating new technology into a workforce helps shift operational attitudes and develop a highly motivated workforce with improved jobsite culture.  State of the art machinery also plays a role in recruitment: it certainly makes us attractive as an employer to entry-level employees like school leavers. So there are many and varied benefits to this relationship.”

Hastings Deering Sunshine Coast Relationship Manager Stuart Manton said the Next Gen 323 offered state of the art technology that was the most revolutionary product introduction from Cat.

“These new machines are defined by their intuitive software on large LCD colour screens, providing operators with an unrivalled level of functionality in navigating through all the safety and production features integrated into the machine,” he said.  “They will not only provide benefits to Tier 1 and 2 contractors but is a game changer for wider industries such as Q Mulching.”
