QRL partnership extended

Hastings Deering is pleased to announce that we will be extending our support of the Queensland Rugby Leagues premier Under 20’s competition for a further three years.

The partnership renewal comes ahead of the 2019 Grand Final being held at Dolphin Stadium, where the Sunshine Coast Falcons will battle it out with the Wynnum Manly Seagulls.

As part of the new partnership, we will also continue our sponsorship of the man of the match in the weekly televised Intrust Super Cup game, doubling the prize money to $500.

Hastings Deering Manager – Brand and Marketing Kelly Jury said the company was delighted to extend its partnership.

“At Hastings Deering, we are committed to supporting the local communities in which we operate and our partnership with the QRL has provided an excellent platform for us to do this across all of our territories,” Jury said.

“It seems only fitting that we look to grow and enhance our relationship with the sport by extending our partnership.

“Hastings Deering is a values-driven organisation and we are proud to align with Queensland’s premier sporting organisation who share the same commitment to supporting healthy, active lifestyles across the state.”

QRL Chief Operating Officer Rohan Sawyer said the new agreement, which will see Hastings Deering continue as naming rights sponsor of the competition from 2020-2022, was a significant outcome for the game.

“We have always been of the belief that a state-wide Under 20s format in Queensland performs a vital role in the development of young rugby league players,” Sawyer said.

“We’re extremely fortunate that from day one in 2017, Hastings Deering has shared our vision for this competition and the opportunity it provides for so many participants, particularly those from regional areas.

“To have an organisation with an 85-year history of serving Queensland customers in our corner for the next three years is going to provide further stability and optimism for the future.”

• Sunday’s Hastings Deering Colts grand final at Dolphin Stadium will kick off at 1pm.

Both Wynnum Manly and the Sunshine Coast will be chasing their first premiership under the new state-wide Under 20s format, after the Norths Devils won the inaugural Hastings Deering Colts grand final in 2018.
