South’s Rugby Union Women’s Premier Grade Sponsorship

Hastings Deering is proud to announce their sponsorship of the South’s Rugby Union Women’s Premier Grade team for 2020.

South’s Rugby Union Club was established back in 1948 and is one of the most successful rugby clubs in Australia. Since its inception, Souths has produced over 70 Queensland representatives and over 30 Australian representatives. 2018 saw the re-emergence of the Women’s program after dissolving over 20 years ago and in 2019, South’s first season, the girls fell just short of the finals finishing 5th.

South’s hosts a diverse group of women ranging in age from 16 all the way through to 35. They also boast a range of different backgrounds with women from Fijian, Papua New Guinean, Aboriginal, Tongan, Samoan and Maori backgrounds.

The 2020 season kicks off on the 21st March with an away game vs. Bond Uni, however the first home game will be on the 28th March at the club against Wests Rugby Union Club. We encourage everyone to come along and support the girls in their fight to the finals for their second season.
